HSP Narratives

HSP’s think and feel very deeply. Young HSP’s don’t yet understand the big feelings so can not explain to the adults around them. In order to paint a picture, I have created a survey and invite many more to respond. We need to only listen.

My living space affects me greatly. I often feel as though I can't get anything done or I can't concentrate with other people around.

I didn't feel good about the hallways or the cafeteria though...

I am an A+ student who is terrified of raising her hand in class. Teachers who would randomly call on people made me so on edge the entirety of class that all of the information I was supposed to be learning would go in one ear and out the other because I was too concentrated on making sure I had the right answer in case I was about to be called on.

Throughout my life I have struggled with depression. One of my most effective methods to cope with this would be isolation. My room has always been a safe place for me and somewhere I can always fall back to when life gets rough. It is misunderstood, because people on the outside sometimes can see it as a reason for me not being social or spending time with others, but it just isn’t easy for me to get things off my mind.

My concerns start with the planet. I worry so often about the damage that has been done to our ecosystem and wonder if we will ever truly find a way to start healing our world again. I worry about the mistreatment of others, in the workplace, in the education system, in our prison system, etc.

I always felt safe at school when the class ran like it was a team. I always found myself thinking, “oh so and so isn’t here today, I hope they’re alright”.

I am someone who is heavily influenced by other peoples opinions and actions so when I have time away from that, my brain kind of blossoms.
